Evangelist Kevin Downswell, a Jamaican born Gospel Recording Artiste, discovered that he could sing at age 13. He won the National JCDC Gospel Festival in 2003 and this was the major launching pad for his ministry.

Kevin has been through much and will continue to use what he went through as a tool to touch the lives of people with the aim of reminding them that.. THEY CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.

He was appointed to the office of an evangelist in the same year that he graduated with honors from the University of the West Indies Mona (2005). During this time he was commissioned by the Lord to become a full-time minister, a decision that was preceded by much prayer, fasting and careful obedience. Kevin’s plan was to become a medical doctor; but obviously God had another plan.

Kevin Downswell’s aim is excellence in all his endeavours and is portrayed in the excellent song in which he played a special role namely “Nah Bow”. This song was co-written by DJ Nicholas Jermaine Edwards and himself. This song was awarded the Marlin Award for
“Reggae recording of the year” - 2006. He also worked with Tennyson Walters of Our Father Music Business and recorded two songs namely “Fret Not(Evil Doers)”and “Since The World Didn’t Love Me” for the project REGGAE FOR CHRIST, which also created history in the international music charts by being the first Gospel album to ever top the New York and South Florida charts simultaneously. There is so much more that Kevin has achieved but touching and changing lives is his first priority.

He attends Faith Mission Assembly of God, located in Kingston Jamaica. This man of God loves the Lord, and has dedicated his life to ushering people to a special place in God’s Presence. His vision is to have the world experience God in a higher and deeper way with each encounter. Spurr Music Empire, a Jamaican artiste management and Music Production organization, currently manage and do bookings for Kevin. The CEO and founder, Wendell Lawrence, is a man of God and a visionary who is determined to help Kevin achieve his Goal.

Kevin Downswell released his debut album on May 24, 2008. “Change is Coming”, “Still Stand” , “Joy” , “Nothing Just Happens”, “Shout”, Praise” “I can feel your Glory” and of course the title track “Close To You” are some of his songs now enjoyed by people across the world and have become dear to their hearts. Kevin is a worshipper and his relationship with God keeps him always thinking “Out the box”.
